Leeuwarden, start and end point of the Elfsteden-tour, holds many surprises for its visitors because it is not in vain since 1500, the capital of Friesland. Leeuwarden is also a city with a long and rich history which at many squares is still clearly visible. Also impressive and always worth a visit are the districts in which the City keepers lived and worked. With a subsequent walk through the beautiful Prinsentuin, lead by the characteristic ways and alleys. Even a trip through Leeuwarden’s multitude of canals is recommended not to forget the visit of the Oldehove, the leaning tower of Leeuwarden.

So clearly the rich and glorious past Leeuwarden´s is still visible, however, Leeuwarden is also constantly undergoing reconstructions, among other things because of the 20,000 students here studying atone of the various universities. With the result of a modern and vibrant city, where much is done in the field of arts and culture, film, music, new media, nightlife, and much more. Furthermore, Leeuwarden is by far the best shopping city in the province. Remarkebly are also the most exclusive businesses with their unusual offers. Shopping in Leeuwarden is a veritable feast! And after a successful shopping day, you can then let the day end in one of the many restaurants.

However, the versatile character of Leeuwarden cannot be described with a few words. It is best to visit this city and see for yourself! We are pleased to welcome you!
