Start van de aanleg van het Vliegveld Valkenburg. Dit heeft tot gevolg dat een groot deel van de
cultuurgrond in Valkenburg verloren gaat. Het vliegveld heeft een belangrijke rol gespeeld bij de Duitse inval in 1940. In 1947 werd het vliegveld marinevliegkamp en heeft als zodanig gefunctio-
neerd tot de sluiting in 2006.
